Cooking Bacon and Eggs in a Paper Bag

July 2006 001

I took the kids camping and had “heard” that you can cook bacon and eggs in a paper bag over a campfire.  I thought that this would be fun to do with the kids for breakfast.  The kids thought it was cool and we had a good breakfast.

To do this line the bottom of the paper bag with bacon making sure to cover all of the paper.  The bacon should go up the side of the bag too.  Crack two eggs and drop on top of the bacon dispose of the shells.  Fold the top of the bag over a 2 times.  Place bag on the grate above the campfire.  No peaking!!!  You will know that the eggs are done when you see that the grease from the bacon is about 1/2 way up the side of the bag.
