This is one of my family’s favorite desserts. I not only make it in the Dutch when we go camping but I also make this in a cake pan at home.
3 16 oz cans of Pineapple (chucks or Tidbits)
1 box yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter
extra pineapple juice (optional)
Line the Dutch oven (I use a 9 qt) with aluminum foil (for easy cleanup). Dump cans of pineapple included the juice into the Dutch oven. Next, dump the cake mix on top of the pineapple make sure that the dry cake mix is evenly distributed. Place thin sliced of butter around the top of the cake mix. Carefully pour pineapple juice (or water) around the top to help moisten the cake mix.
